Great job, Jonathan! I loved the simultaneous meebo chat. Very interesting presentation. I think the video presentation worked fine - I just wouldn't want to see it for very many of the presenters since we all pay good money to attend the conference. However, I do think it works for presenters who cannot attend but have a valuable voice to contribute to the conversation.

Smart talk make brain grow. Thanks for the p.o.v. Hard to argue with your well thought out concerns and question marks. Scary or exciting?

The video was fantastic. It was a nice mix to the other keynotes, but I agree with the other post -- a number of these wouldn't be ideal.

On the form, great video as an intro, but this leaves room only for private chats... In the era of webcams ;-)

Great video and very smart thinker--another book I'm going to be reading this weekend! I agree it takes a very special speaker to pull this off and very good production house. Webcam would have been cool.

Video concept was worthy but not all speakers lend themselves to this format for delivery. I thought the content was broken up enough to digest it without overloading. Plus it was polished and edited which was easier to consume.

I liked this approach, and Jonathan's video. I think it was a nice change of pace. This could only work again in the future if they were all as well-produced as this one was. One suggestion would have been to have the meebo chat on the second monitor for people to follow along with.

Great thought providing presentation. Having him in the official room (and our unofficial LINGR web2.0 expo room) was great.

Enjoyed the video feed. Nice touch - also in "selling" it as optimizing carbon footprint :) The meebo chat room was a nice touch too. It would have been better if he would have been on the phone and answered questions live.

Clearly, the talks about the state of the industry are better received than product pushes. Product specific talks should not be part of a "keynote". Mentioning the product as a means of solving the problems faced by the industry is ok.

The video approach was very interesting. The way the producer played with the material made it rhythmic and lively great job. Some interesting thoughts were shared by the author, some almost scareful, reminding us to be careful and to take care not to let us caught in a trap (were we talking about historical perspective in Marc Andreessen talk comments section?). Some pince-sans-rire humour also. Would have been fun to let us see (on the other screen) the chat going on.

Yes, the video worked well - not much different from the other keynotes really in such a large room where most people can't see the speaker anyway. Odd feeling though, travelling to SF to watch a vid. I was expecting the chat to be on the other screen - why not? At least make it available later.

Great to hear a voice that is a bit more critical about where we are going with all of this. I also expected the chat to be visible to the wider group.

Liked the video approach. I agree that it would have been nice for the chat to be visible to the audience.

Informative and entertaining. It is too bad the video could not have been live. The meebo chat was full when I tried to connect.

good stuff - next time use Cisco TelePresence - so the speaker can be where he is, but still with us via video, but in real-time!

Thought the video was a great green way to hear Zittrain's ideas. Could not do all the speakers like a webcam - but a few powerful voices are OK.

This was great! The speaker was fantastic, this guy is my hero. I really want to go buy his book. Should have given him more time, everything he had to say was great.

This inspired me to check out Zittrain's book. It's also good to see O'Reilly leveraging the Big Think platform. Instead of a pre-recorded video though, would it be possible to use Halo or Telepresence for a live video? There's just something more candid about real-time, non-edited talks, even if the speaker isn't in the room.
