The Art of Testing Web Applications
Presented by Gregg Pollack (Rails Envy). As web frameworks have evolved into best practices, methods of testing these frameworks are still evolving. We'll take a look at the new testing methodologies coming out of Behavior Driven Development by walking through Ruby on Rails application running RSpec, and we'll also take a look at BDD libraries for Java, .NET, PHP, and JavaScript.
One of the best code-example talks I've ever seen. Totally worth the time. Thanks!
The session could have been much better if it wasn't laced with typical rails hubris.
Really enjoyed this session. Gregg obviously has a great rapport with his clients/customers, and has shared his creative analysis on the daily toil of developers, and how testing can be made more efficient, and customer oriented.
Thanks Gregg for sharing your resources and insights.
BDD is very good practice for me. Thank you.
Anyway did you forget about javascript?
great Ruby sales pitch but am not buying Ruby! should have been titled testing Ruby!
I loved this presentation and I don't need to be sold on Ruby on Rails. I direct our QA department at Disney and it's becoming more important to seek out any ability to run automated testing to facilitate automated testing that augments our manual testing. Gregg is a thought leader in this area and I really enjoyed his real world live coding.
Good talk on building frameworks for testing, even for the approach agnostics.
I enjoyed the beginning but left when it got into the specifics with the code examples. Gregg is a great presenter.
RSpec rocks. This was a great romp thru some great testing tools - some I'd heard of and some I hadn't. Also like the Ruby/Rails emphasis even tho I'm a Java guy. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
