Stephan Spencer
Stephan is the founder and president of Netconcepts, a 13-year old web agency that specializes in search engine optimized e-commerce. Clients include Discovery Channel, REI, Home Shopping Network, AOL, Zappos, CNET and SuperPages.com, to name a few.
Stephan is a frequent speaker at Internet conferences around the globe (including Berlin, London, Toronto, Santiago, Auckland, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and places in between) for organizations such as the DMA, the AMA, Shop.org, SMX, JupiterMedia/IncisiveMedia (Search Engine Strategies), Internet World, IQPC and IIR.
Stephan is a Senior Contributor to MarketingProfs, a Senior Contributor to Practical Ecommerce and a monthly columnist for Search Engine Land. He has contributed to DM News, Multichannel Merchant, Catalog Success, Catalog Age, and others. Stephan is an avid blogger, blogging on the Searchlight Blog (part of the CNET Blog Network), the Shop.org Blog, Natural Search Blog, BusinessBlogConsulting.com, MarketingProfs Daily Fix, Changes For Good, Google, I Suggest...; and of course his own personal blog Stephan Spencer's Scatterings. He is co-author of the analyst report “The State of Search Engine Marketing 1.0 – New Strategies for Successful Cataloging“ published by Catalog Age.
Stephan, his wife and daughters spent the last 8 years in paradise -- in New Zealand, moving back to Wisconsin just last year. During his stint in New Zealand, he founded Netconcepts Ltd. as a production office for the US-based Netconcepts LLC. Located a block from the beach in Auckland's North Shore, Netconcepts Ltd employs 35 employees, about as many as Netconcepts LLC in Madison, Wisconsin.
Stephan is currently writing a book along with co-authors Rand Fishkin and Jessie Stricchiola.
