Fernando Madeira was named Chief Executive Officer for Terra Networks in December 2005. He is responsible for overseeing Terra.com’s regional presence in 19 countries located in the United States and Latin America. Prior to joining Terra Networks, Mr. Madeira worked in Silicon Valley, California. In 1989, he along with four other cofounders started the company that in 1995 has became the very first ISP in Brazil. In 1999, Telefónica Group purchased their online work which was the foundation for what is now known as Terra Networks. In 2007, he was selected “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum. He currently manages operations from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
