Kill your darlings. A call for stories from Web2.0 warriors

We've come a long way. There's a lot to be proud of. But now is the time to look back and kill our darlings.

Web2.0 has been built on hunches and assumptions. Some of those assumptions and hunches have paid off admirably and have become part of the community culture. And others have been tested, found wantin, repurposed and retrofitted to reality after that fact...

And now, now we have a set of cultural beliefs that make up all that defines what it means to be part of the Web2.0 community.

And. Like any other, I assume the Web2.0 culture can be catergorized by its peculiar collection of insights and blindspots. And the health of the community rests on our ability to bring those blindpost into some sort of focus.

This is a call to tap into our communal wisdom. A kinda 'stuff you've learnt' along the way thing. Stuff you once took as an article of faith as a Web2.0 warrior.

Have you a story? Or a pithy tale. If so I'd love to hear if you are willing to share.

I'm too spazzed out with last minute logistical stuff to have any pithy to say, but I couldn't agree more with :

"the health of the community rests on our ability to bring those blindpost into some sort of focus"

Thanks for the thought-provoking post, Niall!
